Woke up to a gorgeous day. Weather was crisp and clear in the morning and then got a nice, warm 84º. Since it was such a clear day, I thought I'd go for a hike up Discovery Hills. It's a nice hike and you can see the ocean from the top. See those trees at the top of the hill? That is where I hiked to. Sounds harder than it really is.
The trees are getting a little bit bigger
and the city is getting smaller. :-)
This stack of rocks is ever changing, but always there. I usually add something to the pile. :-)
Ocean view from "the top of the world". It was a pretty clear day with an offshore breeze which helped blow some of the haze away. It's hard to see in the picture, but you could see Catalina Island in the background. ( we can never see Catalina- it is 26 miles away)
Here is a 10x zoom of the Carlsbad Lagoon. You could see the waves breaking.
Very nice hike, hopefully I burned enough calories to enjoy some pumpkin pie .
