Time goes fast ...and slow...

Sometimes I feel like my time off is going slow...when I look at my recovery.....but then I realize how little time I have left and I know my time is going too fast!!!

 

In my last post I was feeling like the recovery on my right leg was coming along great and actually doing better than my left leg.   I'm not soo sure anymore.   I am trying to remember the healing process I have been thru and I think I am farther behind on this right leg recovery.....  and my left leg is slowing down.

 

When I went to my post-op appt. with my doctor, he wanted me to continue therapy on my left leg as well as my right.  I told him that the therapist needed approval of more visits for the left leg before they could continue to treat it...... I am still waiting........ it has been almost 3 weeks!!!!  In the mean time I am running out of time off.   I guess in reality I can be off as long as I need to be, but there are a lot of other factors to consider the longer I am off of work.....

 

Anyway, just an update to the surgeries....

The gardens are almost done!!!  YIPEE!!!

We went out to dinner to celebrate!!!   :-)

 

Had to let the mortar cure and then the sealant went on.  They look soo nice!!!

After the sealant cures a thin layer of dirt will go back inside and then the irrigation will be built.   We have found a couple places around where we can get some good garden soil, and we will make another trip to the mushroom compost place.   Then will come planting time!!!!    YEA!!!!

 

We should be able to get the yard put back together some what......

 

We are almost done moving the bricks that didn't get used for the gardens.  Now we will have our patio back, I can't wait..... Just in time for summer!!!

Next will come figuring out our walkway, patio and outdoor shower...................It never ends!!!

 

We will be taking a short break in a couple weeks to go to Mel's nephews wedding in Vancouver.  Should be really fun to see the family, meet new family and just get away for a couple days.

 

We are also getting ready for a get-away to SLO when we get back from Canada.   A good test to see how much I have recovered, how far I am from my regular activity level and if I will be able to handle being on my feet all day to go back to work June 2nd as planned.......

 

We had a pretty laid back Easter, the neighbors have a big family get together and they invited us to come and enjoy the afternoon, it was nice to sit back and watch the kids have soo much fun!!!   I think the adults hid about 20 dozen eggs.....real egg shells full of confetti or plastic eggs full of candy and $$.....they didn't really even hide them, there were too many.   The lawn was pretty much just covered with eggs......the kids took a walk and when they came back they were given a basket as they walked into the back yard.  They filled their baskets and then started throwing confetti eggs at each other and anyone else who was in the area...... it was a crack up!!!   Some of the adults just sat there, not even trying to get the confetti out of their hair, they knew there would be more......They had 2 piñata's all rigged up, the kids had a great time with them.
