Tis the season.....

WOW, Where do I even begin????   Life has been pretty crazy busy since my last post.   I'm sure it is the same for you as well.......since I am not seeing many posts on your blogs either   :-)

Here are some pics I took at San'O a few weeks ago, when I met Mel up at the campground....
The sign is falling down...wish I would've had a nail to put it back up...
I love this memorial garden area....soo many cool little things...

I want to do this with some of our palm fronds....

The post office is a bit insane right now.  We start work at 6:30, deliver packages for 2 hours, then we come back to the office and start sorting our mail (while the clerks continue to sort packages), then we head out to deliver our routes.......every day is a 10+ hour day....... UGH!!!

Before this crazy schedule started I did manage to go wine tasting with my 2 best buds from work.
Me, Natalie and Cathy......

Cathy talked me into getting a pedicure.......not something I ever do,

But I could get used to it...... hee hee. :-)

We are still babying the avocado tree - 100 lbs of gypsum, special fertilizer and a bale of straw later....

Hopefully it will pull out of its slump soon...

Got a new yard toy......

for helping clean up all these leaves.....we didn't think of the leaves when we decided to put down so much gravel......doesn't rake well, but this little guy works great....just blow everything into the mulched areas, or up against the fence and then vacuum it up.....   :-)   We never thought of getting one before because they are usually soo loud, but this one isn't too bad at all.

We used to rinse our wetsuits out under the avocado tree, mostly because it was handy to be able to hang them while we were rinsing.  They get pretty heavy when they are wet and it is hard to hold them up.  With all the problems we probably helped create with the tree, we needed another place to rinse the wetsuits........I really didn't like the idea if using the orange trees, because we might be doing it more harm than good, so Mel built this frame......
Then he primed and painted it....it's black now, but I haven't been home in the light to take a picture.....so you get the idea....I'm playing with the idea of painting it with some wild colors, but not sure when I would get the time, but it sound like a good idea anyway....  hee hee
He is soooo amazing........ Now we can rinse them anywhere.......

We went to the bike shop a couple weeks ago to get a bike pump, and I fell in love with this handy dandy.......
We ride down to the store sometimes and I hate carrying a backpack.  These are a nice size and will be perfect for bringing home groceries.  They fold up (on the left) for the ride down and they can be removed for everyday rides....   I just LOVE them, even though I think they will make me look like an old lady..... hee hee

I have joined the elite group of Mac owners....YEA!!!   I bought my iPad 2 years ago to learn Apple products and prepare myself.....I have saved for 2 years and finally got my MacBook.   I also ended up with a new iPad because mine decided to start acting up the last day of my warranty.   Luckily I called in and got an appt. with their tech support, they were not able to fix the problem,so....wa-lah, a new iPad for me.......Apple has a great warranty!!!

Mel gave me a wonderful birthday gift this past weekend.  He reserved 2 nights at a B&B in Carlsbad, 2 blocks from the beach!!!!   The Pelican Cove......such a nice surprise and a wonderful place.   www.pelican-cove.com

Gotta love the mailbox......

 Love the feather bed.....soo fluffy!!!!

This little pile of journals was soo fun to read.....guests from all over the world who have stayed in this room, since the owners took over 20 years ago.....

This family has been here 8 years in a row.....

Mel said because I have been working so many hours, he wanted to get me away from everything so I could totally relax.......He is the sweetest!!!!!!!
(It is still hard to relax when you know how much you have to get done, but it was super fun). We went surfing on Sunday, (The waves were small but fun), then we wandered around downtown Carlsbad, watched the sunset, had a fun dinner and pretty much crashed!  Monday was pretty flat, so no surfing.   We came home earlier than we had planned, so I was able to get a few things done.  I accidentally left my new compy at the B&B (DUH!!)  so Mel drove back to get it for me.  He didn't know I took it.......this was supposed to be an "unplugged" totally relax weekend.....I was hoping to have some time to get this blog post written, but no such luck!

So now I'm writing on my lunch break.....

So, that's our world right now, hope to be back soon.....

  1. What a beautiful B&B -- Happy birthday. Welcome to the world of Mac. I ditched my Windows laptop last Christmas when I got a Macbook Pro -- love it! will never go back to windows. But now I'm awaiting installation of my new Innova long arm. JS got hers last week and mine is delivered Saturday!

  2. What a lovely birthday present from Mel...I surely do miss the coast...Hoping things slow down soon...of course, once the holidays are over, things really should get more manageable for you at work. Merry, Merry Christmas to you both and a most Happy New Year! Hugs, my friend.
