A day of Reflection

I started the day thinking I might do a bit of sewing.  A friend of a friend wants me to make some of my grocery bags out of her grandma's old nightgowns.  (Grandma is no longer with us).  I picked up the supplies yesterday and figured I better get started on it because everything takes me longer these days with all the "other" stuff  I need to get done.  Well, I was trying to find a spot on the floor that wasn't covered with papers that need to be shredded and it just wasn't working so.......I kept shredding!!!! How long can this take anyway, right???   I was going thru the last box and it was more a box that needed to be sorted also....I ran into all kinds of stuff....a folder of my old report cards, back to Kindergarten!!!!  It said, "Shelly likes to do things her own way and in her own time"....hee hee     And  I haven't changed a bit!!!!   Ran across my old pay stubs, my First Pay Stub!!!!  WOW!!!  I didn't make much money back then!!!  
I ran across an envelope with some of my dad's personal stuff, he has been gone for 6 years now....then ran across some of my mom's stuff, she has been gone for 11 years now.  It was a trip down memory lane.... Here are a couple pictures I found......

Wow alot has happened since then...... it is amazing to look back at your life and see where you have been.   But also where you are going......that is the fun part!!!!

So after a couple hours down memory lane I got back to the shredding because I was trying to clear the floor of these boxes so I could do some sewing......I get sidetracked every now and then....hee hee

Then I got even more sidetracked......I was trying to find a place for all the "goodies" I found in the box and I got into the filing cabinet to file a few things.  I realized  I still have not separated all of our papers and that definitely needs to be done.  This divorce is alot of work!!!    Wow, that was the "D" word.  I said the "D" word......it didn't feel soo bad.....   Soo anyway, I ended up pulling enough stuff from the filing cabinet to fill another box!!!!   Guess I can't put the shredder away quite yet!!!!

On another note, I got my Spanish books.  

I have been looking around online for a Spanish text book so I can learn in a little more structured manner.  I have a CD program and a quick study guide, but I wanted something I could study from at lunch and thought an old used school book might be just the ticket.  Well, I ran across this set and it seems to have gotten really good reviews.   I found a great website : http://www.abebooks.com/ and I was able to get the Textbook, the Workbook, the Lab Manual and the Activities Book all 4 books for just bout $40.   If you go online to Amazon.com the Textbook alone, new is just about $140.00   FOR 1 BOOK!!!!!  The EXACT same book!!!!  The books I got are used and from 4 different sellers.  The Workbook has some writing in it(which I will just white out), but the others are like brand new.  I can't wait to get started!!!!

So the day is just about over and I never did get to my sewing....never even got the fabric unfolded to look at it.......I still have this evening though......unless another detour comes my way......
