I had to cut up my baby today.........baby pineapple that is!!!! I probably should have cut it up a couple days ago, but I wasn't sure so I waited. It is a little overripe, but still good and sweet!!!!
Not very big, but hey, I grew it all by myself..... hee hee
I was able to get about 1 1/2 cups of fruit.....too bad I couldn't have gotten enough for that pineapple apricot jam I am wanting to make.....that would've been cool to have grown both fruits..
I cleaned up the top and put it outside to dry for a couple days, then I will plant it and see if I can get a grandbaby pineapple.....hee hee
The plumeria are doing wonderful.....This is my gorgeous "India" - had a bunch of blooms all opening at the same time........just noticed one of the other branches on this plant has a flower bud...YIPPEE!!!!
When my plumerias are all blooming at the same time I pick a bunch of the blooms and take them into the flower shop on my route. They display them in a big flat bowl and they look soo pretty. Well, a few days ago one of the gals asked me if I would be interested in selling some of my blooms. They have a customer who is looking for 20-30 of the Samoan Fluff blooms and she needs them this next Sunday......I had never even thought of selling my blooms!!!! I told her I would have to see if I even would have 20-30 by next weekend....I got home and it doesn't look like I will have that many of that one kind....maybe this lady doesn't know I have other colors----I checked the next day and the gal at the shop said this lady was very particular that they all be Samoan Fluff and of course she wants them all to be open all the way and just perfect!!!!! Evidently she said she has been to Hawaii and these are the ones she saw so this is what she wants......This is why I wouldn't want to deal with the public like this!!!!! OMG!!!!! Think outside the box!!!! Everyone who goes to Hawaii sees the white and yellow ones......wouldn't it be better to have a variety on your table so people would be surprised by the colors??!!!! PEOPLE!!!!! Sheeesh!!! I will just keep my colors and enjoy them..... :-)
Hope you are enjoying your colors, whatever they may be....
OMG! That plumeria looks luscious! As soon as I saw it, my mind took me to the smell and I started to smile! Thanks for sharing, Shel.
