Work is keeping me busy during the days, the post office is getting ready to start a new process of sorting the "flats" (the large envelopes, magazines, etc). They will be sorted in delivery order (that is the intention anyway) by machine and then come to our office ready for delivery. When this new system is fully in place we are supposed to only spend about 30-45 minutes each morning sorting the mail that the machines were unable to sort. This means that we will be hitting the street by 8:00 - 8:15. The bad part about this is that our routes are again going to become bigger!!!!.......they are anticipating breaking apart up to 10 routes to be added to other routes in order to fill our 8 hour day....this will mean losing 10 regular carriers and 2 sub carriers.........they are excessing junior carriers up to 900 miles away!!!!! This is not good!!!!! With 22 years in, I am safe from being excessed, but with this new system a computer will now decide where the boundaries of our routes are......I could end up with a route totally different that the one I now have!!!! BUMMER!!!!! I will be looking at an addition of between 1 - 1 1/2 hours. That will mean I will be walking the route for 6 1/2 hours every day......UGH!!!! I am tired just thinking about it!!!!!
Oh well, that is life for now, right???!!!!
On the fun part of my life, I have been surfing quite a few times and got to go to San Onofre for the first time to surf a few weeks ago, man was it FUN!!!! The waves were perfect and I caught wave after wave.....my arms were soo sore for a few days....then went back on my day off the next week, but the waves were not quite a good. Still a lot of fun and we bought a year pass that lets us get in to 125 different California State Parks!!!! We've been back a couple more times and I really am liking that beach!!!! I meant to bring my camera to share some pics, but guess I was having too much fun, I forgot it..........
I'm still selling stuff on e-Bay, which is like a part time job in itself......that seems to be taking up most of my spare time these days. I have sold quite a bit, but I still feel like I have barely made a dent in what I still have to sell.......It feels great to move these boxes out the door.....Everyone at work is saving boxes for me, so the living room is pretty full, and then my sewing room looks kind of like a shipping department........
I can't believe I am sharing this picture with you....(how embarrasing!!!)......every one of those boxes has an item in it that is listed on e-Bay......the boxes are always changing as something is sold and something new is listed for sale!!!!!
I seem to be mailing at least 1 box every day.......the time consuming part is taking the pictures, then the research to see what price to ask.........the shipping part is easy!!! Little by little.....
As you can see, my ironing board is still out so I am finding time to iron fabrics as needed.......I have somehow found a few moments here and there to sew on my wallets. They are slowly coming along, but again, little by little!!!!
I have been spending some time on my days off playing with my plants and flowers. My Morning Glory's aren't doing too well though. I finally gave them some food 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to keep them moist and they have finally started to get the little runners that will climb them up the fence. I have had a few blooms down near the ground and they are gorgeous!!!!
So far only the purple ones have bloomed, I also planted RED and they are all mixed so I really can't wait to see what it will look like once they have grown up the fence......we haven't had much warm weather so I am hoping when we get rid of our June Gloom that they will really take off. My Angel Trumpet looks better than it ever has.....It is getting regular water and some food.....YEA!!!! It is a gorgeous Peach color....I couldn't seem to get a good picture so you could really see what it looks like.....I have 3 tomato plants in the ground around it and they finally have little tomatoes.......there is not much room to grow things in the ground at this house so I had to kinda squeeze things where ever I could.......
I guess the Cherry Tomato also likes the food.....this looks like a bunch of grapes.... hee heeMy absolute joy in the yard is my Plumerias, of course!!!!! They are all doing wonderful and I am soo excited to have the first flower bud showing.....this is on the one called "Rainbow Cup" It is white with a rim of pink.
And one of my absolute favorites is Jean Moragne.....it is like a Tequila Sunrise.....I didn't get any flowers on it last year...there are 3 stems and the flower bus that are just starting to push up are huge!!!!MORE FOOD!!!!!!
Well, I guess I better close this for now and I will try to post again before too long. Hopefully I will be able to show you some pictures of some completed wallets and maybe even some more Morning Glory blooms!!!!
Enjoy your weekend!!!!!
Work doesn't sound like much fun. Sure hope you end up with a route you like. As always, your garden makes me envious. My weeds are doing well, too well! You wannna talk about gloom? We have had the coldest, rainiest spring. Rainy season doesn't usually bother me but this year it has--I've begun collecting gray fabrics! Please share the wallets you're making. I dont recall seeing a post from you with them.
