Seems I am always saying "Time Flies".....I think we all are saying that these days. Soo much to do an soo little time to get it all done. We do manage to get done what we NEED to get done, but there is soo little time to get done what we really WANT to do. I find I am always having to "Prioritize" my list and too much falls to the bottom and sometimes off the list.
We have been busy as usual with work and keeping up around the yard. The garden is growing like crazy!!!
I was finally able to harvest some lettuce and spinach...
It made a great salad....YUMMMM
there is nothing like fresh lettuce. I also added some Kale and Chard from the Farmer's Market - it really added alot of flavor!!!
We had quite a bit of rain over the past couple days, so I think it is time to harvest some more.....
Last Thursday and Friday were over 90º so unfortunately the spinach bolted. Now I need to decide if I want to plant more..... I think we still have some cooler weather ahead so maybe I can plant them in the herb bed, in a shady area.
The beans and peas are finally climbing. No flowers yet, but soon.
There is one tomato plant that is going NUTS!!!! It is an Heirloom called Orange Plum. (You can't miss it!!!)
The tomato here in the front is the one the gopher ate half of. It seems to making a good come back...and it is loaded with flowers!!!
The smaller tomato on the left is the one called Banana Legs. It has a few tomatoes on it, hiding inside.
Can't wait to see what this tomato is like.
The squash is growing really well...
The one in front on the left is one that volunteered in the main garden and I transplanted it here. I think it might be a Zuccini, but not sure.
Let's see.....around the yard.....I love this Columbine!!!
The flowers are soo interesting!!!
The Pineapple Guava is FULL of flowers.
You can eat these flower petals in your salad, they have a slight sweet taste.
The peach tree is surviving for now.....
I had to cut off a large branch that was hanging way over. I was afraid it would split the whole tree in half. Then we had a bunch of wind and one of the other main branches broke off!!!!! We have barely a tree left, but there is fruit on it, so we will keep it for this year.
I found this plant along the fence line, not sure what it is, but I like it, so I'll make room for it. Maybe it is a type of Ginger???? I have no idea..... Scott, any ideas??? :-)
Speaking of Scott.... hee hee We have gotten some plans for the back yard landscaping and we are anxious to get started.
Here is a picture of what it might kinda look like when we get it finished, in a couple years!!!!
Some of the plants will stay, probably alot will have to be changed. A few trees will be removed, but it will be a much better flowing yard that should be easier to take care of.
We have been able to go surfing usually on Sunday mornings and a few times on my day off. Can't be all work and no play!!!!
I am still going NUTS on e-Bay, selling quite a bit. We cleaned out the garage a couple weekends ago and there is definitely more room in there, but I am still amazed at how much is still in there!!!! I'll just keep plugging away at it.
I gotta close this for now....gotta get on my list for the day.
Hope you all are having a great week!!!
Keep in touch!!!
Wow, your gardening is coming along! Love the plans for the back....take care of yourselves. Many hugs from southwest Missouri!
ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted just reading all this. Wow! I could definitely use a plan for my new blank slate yard. But first we need to finish unpacking --way too much stuff. I need to take a clue fom you and start getting rid of stuff.....
