A New Day

The sun has been shining for the past week and it feels like it is warming up.   The birds have started singing in the morning and it makes me want to garden.......When I got up the other day, a dove was sitting in the birdbath!!!  Yea, someone has found it!!!  I am hoping to get some flowers planted this weekend to add a splash of color around the yard.
Last Sunday I spent quite a few hours pulling weeds and raking leaves...it felt soo good to be working outside in the sunshine..... filled an entire trash can......
I started wandering around the yard, just checking things out and I HAVE 4 APRICOT TREES!!!!  Yipee!!!  Oh, my favorite fruit....... ( I think I say that about every fruit.... hee hee)  Look at all the baby apricots just on this one little branch!!!!  OH MY!!!!!
The Plumeria have survived soo far.... I did have to cut off about 5 tips that had froze.... BOO HOO!!!  But, look here, the first leaf!!!!  I'm soo looking forward to this year's blooms!!!
My neighbor grows tons of exotic fruits, here is one of his banana plants.  I just think it is soo pretty!!

The lemon tree is overloaded so thought I would pick a basket full and take them to work, so they don't go to waste.   As I was cutting them from the tree I thought I better cut one open to see if they were ripe or over ripe.....well, when I cut it open I realized they are oranges, NOT lemons!!!!!  Good thing I only removed 6 or 7 of them!!!!   :-)

I'm getting somewhat settled back in after my trip to Mexico...... I still need to upload my photos to web albums, I'll let you know when I finish.   Also getting the bug to sew a bit and try some ideas I have from my trip!!!  Could be FUN!!!!

Have a great rest of the week!!!!

  1. It sounds as though things are starting to get back to normal after your lovely vacation. We've had snow and rain all week...today is the first day that the sun has shown all week. With the amount of moisture we had this past winter, that means spring will turn into the mud season! Thanks so sharing all your lovely photos...they take me back to California....
