Happy New Year

I hope this finds you happy in the New Year...

I am glad the busyness of the holidays are past us, now it is time to take a relaxing breath and look ahead.

I had a wonderful Christmas with Mel here.  I had to work every day except Christmas day, but it was soo nice to have him here when I came home from work every day.  He froze his butt off, but was a trooper!!!  hee hee   I know he is glad to be back in a warmer climate with warm water.  We went down to the beach on Christmas day and watched the CRAZY surfers trying to catch some waves......it was cold and really windy and we were all bundled up, I don't know how they were doing it in the water..... BRRRRR....

New Years Day Scott, Dylan and I braved the frigid water for our annual "freeze our butts off surf"   The water was about 56º, the surf was pretty good with some of the set waves coming in about 6 feet+.   Way too big for me, especially since I was pretty numb after only about 20 minutes.  We held on for about 40  minutes and then stumbled back onto the shore.  The hardest part of the whole morning is getting the wetsuits off with numb hands.... hee hee   Also standing there in just a bathing suit until you can get the wetsuit off and put some clothes on......oh what we do for FUN!!!!

Then the best part is going for coffee and a breakfast burrito and visiting where it is warm!!!!

Later in the day I went to a friends parents house where they have tamales and pasole and the whole family shows up....They have a BIG family....it is alot of fun to watch the family interact.   Every family is the same to some degree.   :-)  

Luckily I had the day after New Years off, so that was my catch up day.  Got alot done and ready for the next week of work.

While Mel was here he did a lot of reseach into our trip to Thailand.  Brenna and Dan's wedding is on Samui island.  Here is a site I found with lots of pictures.

We got our room reserved at the Lipa Lovely Resort for 7 days.

It is going to be soo fun.  I think we are going to fly into Bangkok and then take the bus down to Don Sak where we can get the ferry over to the island.  It will be an adventure, but more to see and experience than just flying to the island.  Still more plans to make, but this is a start......

There isn't any surfing there, but when we leave Thailand we will head to Indonesia for 2 weeks of surfing.   Check out this book cover...... Oh to find a break like this.......

This is a great book with tons of info so we can figure out where to go.......more research for Mel....   :-)

Here is my newest read.......

Boring perhaps, but I really want to learn how to make (or build) a website.  I was going to try to take a class at the college, but then you have to be there on a schedule and take tests, etc.    BLAH!!!!   This way I can learn on my own and read the book 10 times if I need to.   I am starting from the absolute beginning, but hey, ya gotta start somewhere, right????

I'm slowly getting stuff sold on e-Bay....it is quite the process, but I am surprised at how I seem to sell something every day or 2.  Alot of little stuff, but stuff all the same.   Stuff I no longer use, need or want....Why not get a little money for it?  

Back to work tomorrow, less than 2 weeks til I head south to warmer weather and warm water.   I have my suitcase sitting in the bedroom and I throw stuff in as I think of it.

So far all I need is a bathing suit, a sarong, and a pair of boardshorts!!!!

Of course there will be all the stuff I need to take down for everyone else!!! hee hee
