Backyard is finished.......for now.....

It has been a LONG 6 weeks!!!    We are finished with what we will do for now.   All the trenches are filled, mulch is spread and the irrigation system is working wonderfully!!!!  YEA!!!!

Here are a couple pics.
Still have a couple piles of rocks, dirt clods and junk to sift thru, but that will have to wait til we get back from vacation.   Looks so nice with the stepping stones back in place.    Eventually there will be a more permanent walkway arching to the other side of the yard.

All cleaned up and our steps are back in place.....

Looking at the back, you can see where the path will be.......
Looking from the very back towards the house and casita.
This mulched area will be planted at some point, we are hoping the mulch will put some nutrients back into the soil before we get to the planting stage.

We will have to tweak things a little bit over the next while, but looks like we are good to go........

I had to laugh when I saw the pile of mulch in the driveway.   They had told us this mulch was not screened and we might find a little bit of plastic bag, etc.   look what was stuck right in the side of the pile.....
A Barbie leg!!!!!!      I couldn't believe how much trash was in this mulch........wire, green plastic ties, candy wrappers, a bunch of water bottle lids!!!!!   I think this mulch is what is made from the greens waste they pick up from houses......there were times when I felt like I was in a vacuum cleaner bag!!!!
UGH!!!!!!  It should be good stuff though.
Saw this little guy sitting on the little makeshift fence we have around the front yard to keep the rabbits out until the plants get a little bigger.   I think he is a Rufus humming bird.  I have read a little bit about them and I know they have more brown in them.  He has been around for awhile, but never sitting still long enough to get a pic.   I had to sneak up on him and zoom as close as my camera would let me.   Soo cute!!!

Well, that is it for the yard for now.....I'm looking forward to a bit of a break, a chance to re-charge and then I'm sure we will get back into it......

See you soon!!!
