We are ready to begin Phase 2 of our irrigation project!!! YEA!!!!
Phase 2 means the above ground part!!!! We thought we would never get here. Actually this started last Monday, so
This all begins with a trip to the irrigation store for more "parts"!!!
Lots of tubing........
more fittings and rolls of spaghetti tubing!!!!
FUN, FUN!!!!
Laying out the hose to see where we want our paths to go.
Path winds around back area and goes in between garden beds to the right - the white pipes will be the irrigation going to each of the garden beds.
Path between tomato garden and casita - this will be stepping stones like before
This is the beginning of the drip line placed. There will be spaghetti lines going to several places under the fig tree and to each plant once we get to the planting stage.
The mulch has to be raked away once again to place these lines, then once the spaghetti lines are positioned it will all be covered again.....hopefully for good!!
We have had to clear out and trim back more plants to make room for the tubing....filled 11 greens cans!!!!!
We have a huge patch of aloe that had to be thinned out....filled 3 boxes!!
I took these to work hoping to have them adopted instead of having to toss them out. This aloe patch had doubled in size since last year. There is still a nice sized area and it will double again by nex year!!!!
Look what Mel caught.....
This is our Pooping critter......we were thinking we had a raccoon because we had them last year. Mel caught one of these guys a couple days earlier with the marshmallows and took him for a ride far away. (I wasn't able to get a pic.).
Thinking there was just the one, the trap got cleaned and put away. The next night there were more droppings in the RV shelter. He set the trap again, with marshmallows, but no luck. I know that possums like cat food, and we are watching the neighbors dog while they are away, so he grapped a handul of food and set it again. This time he caught this little guy. I was able to get a picture before he was driven to the same place Mel let the other one go. I hope they find each other. This might have been a pair.
We are still trying to get everything finalized for the trip, slowly getting it all done!!!
We both are soo ready for some time off!!!
I'll close this with some pictures of the plumeria, which are gorgeous!!!!
Jean Moragne
The underside of Charise - striped
This plumeria hasn't bloomed in a couple years - it doesn't care for the full sun, it will get sunburned......
I hope you are keeping busy and enjoying your summer!!!

Shel, the progress is tedious but it will be so worth it in the end. I love the pictures....once the yard is done, you can spend time in the casita, right? I love the smell of plumeria...you are one lucky girl to have them growing in your yard! Hugs, my friend. And hugs to Mel.
