6 days post surgery and all is going well....
My right knee is now looking like my left knee did 6 weeks ago....
My left knee still has some healing to do....
It's hard to believe it has been 6 weeks already!!!
I am coming along a lot better with this surgery than the last one, I think partly because I knew what to expect, partly because they were helping me prepare for the surgery in therapy (they were working me HARD!!) and because I will have to answer to my therapist in another 5 days.... hee hee :-)
The gardens are coming along well, Mel has been working like crazy out there. Laying brick is a lot harder than it looks.....and he is a perfectionist, so everything is done "Just so".
It took almost a week to get the first garden done.
Then the 2nd one took a little less time... It has 1 less row since the ground level is a bit higher there.
The remaining 2 beds will also be 1 less row. Should give about 12-13" of soil, which should be plenty....
Mel needs a break from this rut, so he will be taking off for a few days to go hunt for some waves.....they have been pretty hard to find these days!! It will be a nice rest and get away for him.
I have been walking around a bit so went outside to check on the garden and yard in general. It gets really old being inside all day, every day....but each day is better. :-)
The first pepper (purple) showed up and the peas and beans are popping thru. I saw 2 cucumber plants breaking thru the ground as well.
Nothing much from the radishes and carrots, I think the earwigs are still munching on them as soon as they start to poke up.... The tomatoes are growing good except one, so I will replace that one in a couple days, when I can.
The iris' are blooming!!! AHHHH!!!! Soo pretty!! I really want to put in an area of the bright blue iris as well......maybe for next year.
Check out the seed pods on the Tabebuia tree!!!
Whoa!!! They are LONG!!
We got our first flowers on the Bird of Paradise in the front yard....
only took 1 1/2 years!!!! There are 2 flowers on 1 of the other Birds, so I guess they are finally settled and growing good.
Everything is coming along well, but still amazed at how much still lies ahead of us in this yard...... will we ever be finished???
We are thinking we will head to Canada in a few weeks for Mel's nephews wedding. We haven't seen the family for 2 years and it will be nice to get away for a weekend. It will be a short trip, I can't miss too much therapy, but we will have a couple days to see everyone and visit.
Not much else to share, it's been slow going, but steady. I'm off to do my knee exercises.....
Hope all is well in your little corner of the world!!!

So glad to hear you are thru the 2nd surgery and your recuperation is going so well! Take it easy, Shell...don't want to undue all the good work! Hugs!!!
