Mexico....continued

Time continues to fly by.....

There is a great restaurant on the beach to the north.  Everyone calls it the "Palapa Resturant"  They have a great Marlin burrito.....
The tables and chairs are right out in the sand...

This is the view while eating......sooo nice!!!

While we were eating we watched a guy walking by with his "dinner"...good sized fish, don't know what kind....

After eating dinner we were going into town to pick up some veggies for a potluck the follwing night.   Saul the veggie guy happened to stop by the restaurant to get some dinner for his familia so we were able to shop right there.  Here is a picture of his great truck, all loaded down.
One thing about mexico that you learn fast is to be patient......not everyone has everything you might be looking for.  You have to take your time and you might need to go to 4 different stores to get what you need.   This is definitely soo different from being able to get everything at one store.....but, there is not hurry down here......it just takes time....... After shopping at Saul's truck we were off to the Fruteria to get some kind of fruit.    You never know what is going to be available, so you have to be flexible.....

Here is the local Farmacia......

Went to a crafty type market in Guyabitos and got a really cool painting....the guy was sitting there with about 30 cans of what looked like automotive paints.....He would spray them on paper in a kind of mish mash sort of pattern and then use his hands, newspaper, all sorts of things to create these beautiful works of art.......... This one I loved!!!!!

After leaving the marketplace, we headed into La Penita.  This is the closest "big town" where they have a post office.   I wanted to send a letter to one of my friends who does not have a computer.......This town in a bit nuts!!!  Crazy busy!!!   Check out this guy.  He stopped on a bench to get a bite to eat...it was a little warm, so he created a "hat".......they are ingenious!!!

We stopped on the way home at a roadside Pineapple stand.  The fields are right there.....they sell for 3 pinas (pineapples) for 50 pesos.......  I was able to go into the fields and see how they grow.....soo interesting.    The guy who owns the farm was there and he spoke good English so I was able to ask him all kinds of questions.  Here they take about 18 months to produce a pineapple, not the 4 years mine took..... hee hee
If you look close I think there are 5 baby pineapples in these few plants.

After leaving the pineapple fields we headed back and still had to stop in our little town for a couple things we couldn't find out on the road......then they day was pretty much done.......I just can't believe how fast they days go.......and I'm not sitting around at all......

Checked on the progress of the surfboard and Eulogio was getting it shaped.    He has been waiting about a month to get the resin down from the states.....  It is hard to get anything down here, so everyone compromises and figures out a different way....or they just wait.....

The surfing has been a bit slow.....the waves are small, with the occasional bigger set coming in.  We have driven a few different places to find waves.  There are some great beaches around and they would be hard to find if you didn't know where you were going.......went to a place called La Lancha yesterday.  The waves were nice and small for me with the larger sets coming in on occasion.  We got there a bit late so there were about 8 people already out there.  They slowly started leaving so I was happy to have the water without soo many people.....Then 2 boats showed up with surfing lesons.....bummer, we were back to having about 15 people all wanting the same waves.....Oh well, that is how it goes.......life is tough!!!!   :-)

Hey Scott, I am standing on my 7'6"...(weel, kinda).....YEA!!!!

Might head out on a road trip next week down the coast, thru Colima and into Michoacan.  Should be fun, I'll take pictures!!

So.....that is what's happening down this way.....I hope all is well in your world, I'll post when I can.
