Mexico es la vida

Ahhhh, It's sooo good to be back!!!!
It was wonderful to wake up my first morning here to sunshine, warmth, blue skies and palm trees!!!!

We grabbed the bus from the airport, that was fun and different......lots of bumps in the road, since we traveled the lateral roads to all the different bus stops along the way.  Took a little longer than taking a car on the Highway, but the bus was definitely more interesting......

The first day is always a bit of a chore day, getting everything unpacked, put away and just getting settled.  Then a trip to La Penita to get groceries.......first stop is the bank to get pesos, then onto the fruteria for fruit and veggies, (had to go to a couple places to get everything we needed), then picked up some milk, yogurt, juices, etc.     Still needed to stop into a couple places back in our own town to see if they had what we couldn't find in La Penita....

This is totally different from the states where you can find pretty much everything under 1 roof.   Each store only carries soo much stuff, so sometimes you might have to hit 3 or 4 stores to get everything you need.

Finally got everything and headed back, the shopping experience took about 3 1/2 hours!!!   Then had to clean everything and get it all cut up.     Shopping is not a favorite thing!!!!
Ended the day on the beach for sunset with a Mango margarita.......YUM!!!!

Had a great surprise waiting for me yesterday!!!!   I had asked about renting a surfboard while I was down here so I didn't have to haul mine down.  We stopped in at Eulogio's place (he is the local board shaper) and this is what was waiting for me!!!  It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

This is Eulogio and me with my gorgeous 8.0 board with a gorgeous pine inlay!!!!
Then I found out the board is MINE!!!!   Mel was sneaky about it and had the board made for me.....not a rental!!!!!   OMG!!!!!

The waves finally decided to show themselves, the first time in a few weeks, so we had to head out!!!! The new board is Wonderful!!!!   Soo stable and just great.    Since these were the first waves in quite awhile, there were alot of the locals out in the water, so I didn't get too many waves, but still had a great time.   Hoping for a few waves to show up this afternoon so I can give her some more time in the water.....

So, as you can see, having a great time!!!!

More later!!!!
