It has been pretty hot these last few days...
On Thursday, after sweating all day at work, and knowing Mel was sweating all day here working on the back path, I kidnapped him and we went to beach to cool off.
Soo much fun!!! We took the SUP's and had a great time. It has been a long time since we took them out, so getting up and being able to paddle them was a bit of a challenge at first... :-)
Mel catching one.....YEA!!!
Of course it is hard to pretend you are not right in the city limits.....love the power plant behind Mel..... :-(
Then Friday morning, 7:30am sharp, the gravel was delivered. UGH!!!
We still had to finish the grading of the path, getting it all smothed out and as level as possible.
It looked soo nice like this, we wondered if we made a mistake in getting gravel instead of DG.
Then the shoveling began!!!!
The end of Friday.
We kept looking at the pile and wondering if we got enough.
Then after shoveling for awhile we thought maybe we got more than we needed...
The end of Saturday....
Then towards the end of the pile we again weren't sure if we got enough.....
Sunday morning, I ditched Mel to have coffee with a friend. (we set this date before I knew we would be shoveling gravel... hee hee)
When I got home, this is what was waiting.... AHHHHHH
Except..... we are short on gravel about 1/4 yard!!!! (about 2 trash cans full). BUGGER!!!!
So, today when I get home from work, we will load 4 trash cans (can only lift them 1/2 full) and go get more......
The path looks great!!!! We have gone back and forth with feeling like it looks too sterile and loving the way it looks soo clean and tidy.....
What do you think????
The area in the middle and around the outer part of the path will eventually be planted with native and drought tolerant plants.....that is the next part of this never ending project... :-)
OK, gotta head to work.
Have a great day!!!

The path looks most excellent! I love the clean lines of it. I am amazed at your energy...it's all I can do to unload a closet and put the crap in the room and then I need to rest for a few minutes before I tackle the purging...You are my hero, Shell!
