Mel had to go out of town for a few days and I thought it would be the perfect time to try to get all the plants planted, as a surprise, so he won't have to do any of it when he gets back...... So, we were up at 3:30am to get him to the airport so I could get to work on time. About 8:30 I get a call from a number I don't recognize.....it is the mulch guy!!!! OH NO!!!!! I had to turn him down last time because we were right in the middle of the yard being torn up. I never know when he will call and we still need more mulch in the back yard, so.......I told him yes, I would take it. He said it was a little less than half a truck.....after we hung up I started wondering if it was half of the BIG truck or the small one!!!!! YIKES!!!! I didn't have any idea what I would be in for when I got home......well, luckily it was half of the little truck!!
The problem I saw right off was that there was Bougainvillea in the load......UGH!!!! He told me it was a clean load....(meaning nothing with thorns: Palm, Yucca, Bougainvillea, etc.) Well, you can clearly see there is a large amount of pink Bougainvillea flowers!!!!! I seriously doubt they got the flowers in there without getting the rest of the plant!!!!!
All I could do was start shoveling and getting it moved to the back yard, and I will have to deal with it later!!!! So, I spent the last 2 nights after work moving mulch and getting no plants planted!!!!! It is all moved now though!!!!!
I filled 6 greens cans with just Bougainvillea and I know it is mixed somewhat in all the rest. Now I have to decide if it will break down or do I put some out each week with the greens and in about a year I will be rid of all of it???!!!! That is the last time I will take mulch from anyone!!!!! UGH!!!!
Tonight I am going surfing.....the planting can wait another day!!!!
