Fall is in the Air

The weather has definitely cooled down the last few days. I hope this is the beginning of fall. The weather guy says we are gonna heat up a bit by mid week, but I will just enjoy this for now. :-)

The plants are enjoying the cooler weather also. I am seeing new growth and not having to water every day.

This plant is a Duranta. I love the bright blue/purple color and every flower has white around the edge. The humming birds love this one also. It is not a very large plant yet, but can get to be a large bush. I planted it on the bank so it can grow as crazy as it wants...

Was a lazy sunday, went to the beach in the morning, tried to catch a few waves, but they were kinda crazy. Came home and decided to play for the rest of the day.
A friend commissioned me to make more of my re-usable grocery bags, so needed to get some work done on those. It's always more fun to work on projects that you WANT to do instead of those you HAVE to do. :-)
I took a break from the bags and finished my 2nd Garden Patch Cats. This one is Caulipuss... Isn't it soo cute??!!!

Also got the whiskers finished on Avocato. I am using hot fix cabochons for the eyes. it is funny to see the different expressions just by where the eyes are placed.

Still working on Baltimore Halloween, but nothing new to show yet. Applique takes time..... :-)

This roadrunner has been around for years and today it had a juvenile with it. I couldn't get a picture of the little one - Bummer..... They like to sit in the bird bath, especially when it is HOT outside.

Hope you had a great weekend!!! :-)

  1. Beautiful flowers on that plant -- never heard of it. I'm assuming it's a so. Cal. kinda plant? The kitties are just too cute. Can't wait to see the completed quilt.
